CANADIAN GUN CONTROL BILL C-68

OPEN LETTER TO CONCERNED CANADIANS

Hello,

I am a concerned hunter and shooter - I do not represent the organizations I am about to mention. I am a member of the National Firearms Association of Canada. I believe these organizations are here to help us, and they need our support - please treat this e-mail as public, and feel free to pass my name, address, phone number and e-mail to ALL your clients, associates and employees. In fact, I would ask you to do so. Please give this e-mail as much publicity as possible. Many outfitters do not have computer access.

This 22 September the National Firearms Association, along with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and other sponsors will be holding a "Fed Up" rally on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. This rally is to protest Bill C-68 and it's intrusive powers. Powers that will lead to the registration and eventual confiscation of privately owned firearms.

This confiscation has been confirmed via Canadian Firearms Centre in Ottawa. The CFC has begun notifying firearms dealers that several types of firearms will become illegal and be confiscated WITHOUT compensation once C-68 becomes law this 1 October, 1998. When will your firearms be taken? It may not be long after 1 October!

I am concerned that this bill will also have serious financial repercussions. The foreign hunter will simply refuse to comply with draconian government measures. This means the foreign hunter will probably decide to hunt in other countries. This will mean outfitters, guides, suppliers and the government itself will lose millions, if not billions of dollars of revenue. You will be unemployed and your investment in your hunting and fishing lodges, and territories will be worth a fraction of today's value.

I would ask that you visithttp://www.fedupcanada.org/and visit the sponsor section. I would ask that you contact Al Dorans (adorans@magma.com)and tell him you want to be a sponsor. If you want to talk to me directly about this issue, please feel free to do so. I would also ask that you visithttp://www.nfa.ca/and read about Bill C-68. There is also a section on the rally that you might find to be of interest.

You and your organizations have a political voice. Please use it! We must ALL help fight this bill. Otherwise we will lose a way of life that has been respected for generations.

Sincerely,

Bruce Beswick
